Jesus as the Only Way to God
Introduction

Jesus is the only begotten son of God who came into this world to save the humankind from their sins that they are born with through our ancestors Adam and Eve. Many religions have different opinions and definitions about the identity of Jesus Christ, there are those who call him the son of God and that is the majority group and there is also that group that describes Jesus as the prophet of God and everybody want to give the identity of Jesus according to their beliefs and understanding but the bible remains to be the only book with the best definition of Jesus. The apologetics of Jesus is a caring approach that has come up and it deals with doubters of the true description of who Jesus is and it is a very attractive approach that claims that portray Jesus as someone who has high skills in rhetoric and also has the ability to maneuver all sorts of opponents and this tends to bend on the sides of those interested in Christology and apologetics.

Who is Jesus Christ?
There are very many theories related to the identity of Jesus according to people’s beliefs from different communities in the world.[1] A Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ and walks according to his will and obeys his commandments. In the old testament there were people who a very close relationship with God but they were not being referred as Christians, Moses had a close relationship with God, Abraham, Noah and others who are all believed to be in Heaven by Christians as it is stated in the holy book called the bible. In the old testament people used to sacrifice animals that were considered without blemish such as a lamb but as time went by questions of what happened to those people who did not have an animal to sacrifice did with their much sins still remain unanswered, did God only forgive those who confessed their sins and offered sacrifices to Him? All these questions came to an end when God decided to send his only begotten son Jesus according to the book of John 3:16. The love of God looked way beyond our numerous sins and decided to send his one and only begotten son to save us, in the beginning when God made the heaven and the earth He already had a purpose for human beings since Jesus was still there in the trinity in the beginning of the world. The bible states clearly in the book of 1John 4:19 that He loved us before we did love him thus God loved the world before the world even knew about him and that states how the love of God cannot be compared by anyone’s love in this world because it is very unique.

Christians Beliefs on Jesus
Most Christians believe that Jesus is the only way to because no one has ever claimed such a thing since the beginning of the world, Jesus claimed to be the son of God during his visit on earth and he also said in the book of John that he is the way the truth and the life and that no one can get to the father except through him and this is what Christians all over the world believe and have laid their foundations on.[2] Jesus is part of God’s plan of salvation since without Jesus no one can reach to the father who is God in heaven the creator of the whole world. The bible still states in the King James Version that there is no other name under heaven or earth given to anyone but the name of Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God. God thought of how to save the world from the curse of sin that it had acquired from the disobedience they had towards God since Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God is a spirit and is part of the trinity of God the father, the son and the Holy Spirit and this still remains a mystery that cannot be questioned since God is concerned in it. People who spent most of their times with Jesus and followed him were called Christians in the new testament where Christians in Antioch though many questions concerning the events of Jesus still needs deeper explanation to people who needs to know the whole truth about God. Jesus as part of Gods plan for human salvation was born after many prophecies had already been made in the Old Testament by King David, prophet Isaiah and prophet Nathan. King David in the Old Testament prophesied tat there would be a child that would be born in Bethlehem the city of David and in the new testament this prophesy was fulfilled when angel Gabriel came to the virgin Mary and told her that Jesus was going to be born in Bethlehem the city of David. Prophet Isaiah also that a child would be born and He will be called the wonderful counselor, prince of peace, Mighty God and the everlasting father and this was also fulfilled in the new testament when Jesus was born. [3]

The Birth of Jesus
All the prophecies about the identity of Jesus as the true Messiah that were prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament give the evidences of as to why Jesus is referred to as the son of God and the only way to God for everyone who believes in Jesus or to Christians as we can say. The birth of Jesus and the events that surrounded his birth should also be mentioned as we are discussing as to why he is called the begotten son of God and as to why Jesus is referred to as the only way to God. Mary was a young girl who was a virgin, she was engaged to Joseph who was a carpenter and she had never been involved in any relationship apart from that of her and Joseph. Mary had a cousin who had been visited by the Angel Gabriel who gave her a message that she was going to give birth to a son by the name of John and since sounded quite impossible Zachariah doubted this message and he became dumb for three days and this was not long before Mary was also visited by the same angel who came to give her the message about the birth of Jesus. Mary became afraid when the angel came to her but the angel told her not to be afraid because the favor of God was with her. [4]After the angel had told Mary that she would bear a son by the name of Jesus through the power of the holy spirit, Mary sang a song called the magnificent to the lord and she said that the will of God to be unto her and it was. For more confirmation as to whether this was the will of God, Joseph the husband of Mary doubted all this action but the angel of the lord came and explained everything to Him for better understanding and this is how Joseph confirmed that Mary had not been unfaithful to him.

The events that took place during the birth of Jesus such as the presence of angels, the star that appeared in the sky and many others showed that Jesus was truly the son of the highest God and no one has a reason to doubt this story of the origin of the identity of Jesus. In his early stages of life, Jesus still confirmed that He was the son of God starting from the time when he was twelve years old and lost in the temple as he spent his time with the great priests of the time as he taught them about the scriptures and telling them great things that a young child cannot be saying at such an early age that he had and when he was asked by his parents about it he told them that he was about his father’s business.

Powers of Jesus
During his days, Jesus did amazing things that nobody else had ever done during that time because he was just unique in the way he did the things he did in all aspects. Other things or evidences that prove that Jesus is the son of God and the only way to God are the miracles that he performed in many places during many different events. Jesus did his first miracle by changing water into wine at a wedding and from there he did many other miracles that made people to start following him such as the miracle of the two loaves of bread and five fish that made Jesus have many followers who kept on following him expecting that he will provide more food for them. [5]The other miracles that Jesus did were such as raising of the Jairus daughter, the raising of Lazarus from death and calming the storms among others which included exorcisms when Jesus healed a man who was demon possessed and when the demons got out of him they were sent into the pigs that drove themselves into the ocean. Jesus life was a whole testimony of his identification and he still kept on telling his twelve disciples that he was the son of God anytime they asked him about his identity and his disciples also believed that he was truly the son of God throughout his mission on earth. When his opponents the high priests and the Pharisees attacked him and tested him by asking him about his identity, Jesus still confirmed to them that he was the son of God and they believed that he was blaspheming God and they found it as an evidence of their accusation towards him to the kings of that time.

Betrayal of Jesus Christ
Jesus was betrayed by one of his disciples who also believed in him as the son of God and as God himself since Jesus had always been telling them that he and his father was one thing through the power of the holy trinity. Jesus life portrayed many qualities that ordinary men could not portray in many different ways and in very different aspects he still remains to be called the son of God because the miracles he performed and the other different things that he did still remains to be unquestionable but brings him out as unique and very extraordinary from the rest.

During his crucifixion many wonders happened such as the tearing of the temple curtain into two and the darkness that appeared during the day and the earthquake that took place. If at all Jesus was not the true son of God then during his crucifixion was the time when all these claims could be put into action and make a lot of sense. But this was the time when every believer of Jesus Christ as the son of the most high God to feel happy because his resurrection was ahead of them and they did not have an idea about it. Jesus rose on the third day and the victory for the believers of Jesus were happy and had more reasons to praise the living God because the whole mystery of the true identity of Jesus had come to an end because everyone had no reason to doubt the true identity of whom Jesus is. The powers that Jesus had he had already empowered his disciples and he also sent the Holy Spirit to help them and to guide them in all their ways. Evidences of Jesus being seen after his birth such as the visit to the tomb by the women who were the first to know about his resurrection and the appearance of Jesus to Cleopas and Simon on their way to Emmaus and other evidences such as the doubting Thomas who is also known as Didymus when he claimed that he could not believe it until he sees the marks of the nails that Jesus had been crucified with prove that Jesus is the true son of God and the only way to God.

The Teachings of Jesus
After the introduction of Christianity in Antioch, in the book of the acts of the apostles such as Saul and his vision of Jesus on his way to Damascus as he was going to kill Christians also give more evidences of the identity of Jesus as the son of God and the only way to God. Through Jesus we are saved from our sins since the bible says in the book of Romans that we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God and that no one is righteous in this world.[6]

The bible says that all of we like sheep have gone astray thus we need God’s grace for by grace we are saved from our sins in this world. The bible says that anyone who believes in Jesus as the only begotten son of God has everlasting life thus anyone who does not believe in Jesus as the son of God will not see life and that the wrath of God will abide on him and this means that Jesus is the only way to God and the only gate to eternal life with God. The world has grown to have very many different religions that have come up all in the name of Jesus. The bible has turned out to be corrupted since everyone wants to come up with his own version of the bible in order to get many followers and the contradictions that all these bible versions have has become one of the ways through which people are getting confused and misled in their beliefs because the versions have come up with many strategies that deceive people in the world today.

The versions of the bibles are corrupt and they tend to cut off some important information about the true identity of Jesus through different ways. In the upcoming versions of the bibles with different doctrines many people are getting confused and for those who are looking for the right direction in life find themselves stranded since they don’t know what to do and where to go but now its high time the truth is told to people and that they are shown the right direction as far as Jesus is concerned as the only way to God. The apologetics way of presenting Jesus is also one of the ways that is misleading people in the world today especially where the true identity of Jesus is concerned such as the way he is portrayed in an intellectual clearance of the slum. Many churches that use the apologetics approach have turned out to make people believe that by being filled with the Holy Spirit they should jump around aimlessly in the churches and also shout where not necessary all in the name of Jesus as they make false prophecies about Jesus making people believe that he is what they claim to be.[7]

The apologetic teachers tend to use Jesus styles of preaching like the parabolic and the rhetoric questions as a way of entertainment forgetting that Jesus was telling parables to people and they were the ones who were being aimed at with the parables. The testimonies that false teachers give people in the name of Jesus also tend to deceive many people. The false teachers have come up with many ways of attracting people into their churches and getting them to believe their doctrines by the way they approach them, they attract people by their performances of miracles in the name of Jesus and also find that as the best way to attract those who are ignorant about who Jesus truly is by the way they see him being portrayed. God does not need us but we need him but the apologetics tend to show that God needs us and yet it’s obvious that we cannot do anything without God but he can do everything without us.

Conclusion
Its time that people are told that they really need God and not that He needs them because the apologetics tend to bring up their own doctrines which tend to involve man to do something for God forgetting that He is not the one in need of us but we are the ones in need of him. [8]The love of God cannot be measured like the love of human beings which can end anytime his love is all we need and to live our lives in a way that pleases Him and not just doing things in his name and not doing something about his grace that is sufficient for us. The bible in the original version of the King James Version tend to portray the whole truth about the identity of Jesus and the plans of God for our lives since it has not been corrupted compared to the other versions of the bible that don’t show clearly what God wants of us. I recommend everyone who wants to know the truth about the true identity of who Jesus truly is to read this book that talks about the apologetics and this book portrays the true image of Jesus and the purposes of God in their lives because the bible says that we should know the truth so that the truth shall set us free from the bondage of sin that we have been born with. May God’s grace be sufficient to everyone who reads this article and let them know the truth about who Jesus is?
