Short Story: I Love You Too Essay

Posted on

It was a warm, but breezy Sunday afternoon. The usual day of fall, the leaves were turning; reds, yellows, and oranges flooded the trees (imagery). Leaves danced around the hard concrete pavement (personification), and then lifting off into the air. I was walking to Tyzer’s house, suddenly; a chill ran up my back. Turning around, there was a pearly Tahoe. But, this Tahoe was familiar; I turned around and walked faster. The chill in my spine turned into pierce, throbbing pain; grabbing my back I turned around once again. Stones were being thrown at me, it was Harper and Jaylen.

Jaylen drove slowly, right behind me, as Harper chucked rocks in my direction, from the window. Beep, beep (onomatopoeia); Jaylen honked the horn. “Where do you think you are going hot shot? ” Jaylen yelled, though the driver window. “Can you just leave me alone? Seriously, everything is getting old. I have never done anything to you guys. ” I stopped. “Well, listen here, you were kind of born, that’s the problem. ” Jaylen spoke louder, still following me. I could see Tyzer’s house across the street and felt my eyes moisten. Jordynn, honey, the thing you do not understand is, if you were to die no one, none of your family or friends would care. Oh, wait that’s right she doesn’t have friends, “Jayden and Harper looked at each other and giggled, “except for that Tyzer guy. But, he only hangs out with you because you’re easy. ” Harper chuckled as they drove away. Hot tears ran down my face, as I sprinted across the street, to the safety of Tyzer’s welcoming home. Finally getting to his door step I knocked as he answered. Seeing I was emotionally hurt, he wrapped his arms around me tightly. The smell of hot chocolate crept up my nose.

As we walked inside, we let go of each other. There stood Tyzer’s Mom in the kitchen, holding two cups of warm, steaming hot chocolate. On the top of one, plopped three big marsh mellows, and in the other there was no trace of any. Linda knew I absolutely hated marsh mellows from day one. “Honey, why so blue? Is it Harper and Jaylen again? If so you shouldn’t let them bother you! You are so much better, you have the biggest heart, and you’re very, very beautiful. Don’t you agree Tyzer? ” Looking over at him, his face turn beat red, and started blushing. He grabbed his neck and bit his lower lip. He did this whenever he got nervous. Well okay, are you staying over tonight? ” Linda asked, trying to change the subject.

“I don’t know? ” I locked eyes with Tyzer. He was still blushing and then answered, “Yeah… I mean yes, if you want to again. ” He said casually, going back to his natural color. “Okay, I had fun last weekend! This should be just as fun! ” I said in a much better mood. Setting my hot chocolate down on the coffee table, rubbing my back, I felt something warm but wet. Looking at my hand, it was stained red; I walked to the bathroom quickly. Not thinking they were going to see my dampened sweatshirt. Tyzer followed after me, “Is that blood? he said following me into the upstairs bathroom, “What did they do to you? ” “It’s nothing. ” I looked at the ground, and then looked back up. “J, you’re bleeding. This isn’t just anything. What did they do to you? ” he grabbed peroxide, cotton balls, and then lifted up the back of my sweatshirt; revealing my wounds. He always called me J; it was the nickname he gave me in the fifth grade.

“They threw rocks at me. ” looking down, tears filled my eyes again. “Something else is bothering you… What did Harper and Jaylen say? ” He poured peroxide onto a cotton ball and touched it to my open wounds. “Ouch! ” “Sorry J, please continue. Tears streamed like a waterfall (simile), down my face. “They… They said no one would care if I died, and I’m starting to… Think they’re right. ” “NO! They are not right! Don’t listen to them! Your mom would miss you, my mom would miss you! Most of all… I would miss you. ” I turned and looked into his deep sea blue eyes; they were glistening and a single tear rolled down his face.

“Please promise me you will not do anything stupid (foreshadowing),” he continued, “pinky promise me, please? ” We always pinky promised, it was just something we have done since third grade. We’re freshman now, so about seven years. I pinky promise. ” I whispered as we locked pinkies. Tyzer turned me around and finished putting band aids on the center and then on my lower back. “Are you okay? ” Tyzer questioned as we ate dinner. “Yeah, could I use your phone to call my mom, so she could bring me clothes? ” “Of course! ” he blurted out in between bites of food. Tyzer handed over the phone and I dialed my mom’s phone number. The phone rang about four or five times before she finally answered. “Mom, could I stay over at Tyzer’s again? ” Shoveling my mashed potatoes in my mouth, she replied, “I don’t care, that’s fine.

Do you need clothes for tomorrow? “If you don’t mind that would be great. ” “Alright, I will be there in about fifteen minutes! ” “Thanks Mom, love you. ” “Love you too Jordynn. ” There was a click as she hung up the phone. It was about ten, ten thirty whenever we decided we were tired. Taking my string bag, I walked to the bathroom, shut the door, and flicked on the light switch. I accidently hit my elbow on the sink, while putting on pajamas. Tyzer must have heard the loud thud; he came rushing to the door. “Jordynn, are you doing fine in there? ” Opening the door, I was rubbing my elbow. “I do not think death will fall upon me, by just hitting my elbow. laughing obnoxiously; he also chuckled under his breath, revealing his smile. Tyzer led me to his room; there I saw a pallet made on the floor. “You can sleep in my bed, I’ll take the floor. ” “Are you sure? ” “It will be fine! ” he said lying onto the floor. Jumping into his bed, I reached for the light switch, and turned it off. I woke up to Tyzer shaking me, “Jordynn, wake up! It’s 7:50, we have 10 minutes to get to school. ” I through my hair up into a bun, and just kept on my sweats I slept in. We both ran down the stairs, out the front door, where Linda was waiting in the Honda. “What took you guys so long? she questioned, pulling out onto the black, smooth road.

“Sorry Mom, we slept in. ” Tyzer answered. As we pulled into the school, the bell just had rung, and everybody was rushing to the front door. Hopping out of the side car door, we sprinted to the school. Tyzer and I rushed into the school, not even going to our lockers. We had all the same classes, so if we ever missed anything, it was very helpful. The first bell, to be to our classes, rang as we entered the room and sat in desks. “Look, the hot shot had to hurry to class, because she was too busy with Tyzer… If you all know what I mean. Harper giggled, glaring at Tyzer and me, and then looking over at Jaylen. I rolled my eyes and just ignored her, trying my best not to cry. “Don’t roll your eyes at us, but then again she’s used to it! ” Jaylen added in. “What are you going to do, huh? You both are just talk and when someone confronts you, everyone is suddenly in the wrong. ” I said standing up defending myself. “I’ll show you what I will do. ” Jaylen said walking over to me, shoving me to the ground. Everybody started laughing as I fell, except for Tyzer. He stood up and picked me up off my butt.

I lunged in swinging to knock her right in the face; but Tyzer held me back, not letting me defend myself. Struggling to get away from him, he finally let go whenever I accidently stabbed him in the face, with my elbow. By this time Jaylen was walking to her seat, she was not aware of the ambush she was about to receive. Running up to her, Harper grabbed my arms, “Come on Jaylen! Sock it to her! Give her what she deserves! ” Jaylen turned around and continuously kneed and punched me in the stomach. After about thirty seconds she stopped, that’s when the teacher walked in. Falling to the ground, Tyzer rushed over to me.

Tyzer, Jordynn get to your seats. ” the teacher clearly had no clue of what had happened. “Did you not just see that!? ” Tyzer questioned forcefully. I stood up, “Tyzer just go to your seat I am fine. ” We walked over to our seats and sat down. Fifteen minutes into the class I felt queasy, distant from the world. Suddenly, everything was black. I woke up in a room, covered by a blanket. Sitting up, I realized it was the nurse’s office, we had at our school. Mrs. Eisenhowser, the school nurse, walked in. Looking over at me she realized I was finally awake. “Jordynn your Mom is here to pick you up, are you feeling better? “What happened, what time is it? ”

I questioned rubbing my eyes, getting them adjusted to the light. “You fainted during first hour; I think it’s the beginning of third hour right now. But, do you feel okay? ” “Yeah fine. ” I finally answered her first question. My mom picked me up from school and when we got home I ran up to my room. Sitting at the edge of my bed, a million thoughts (hyperbole) went through my mind. Why doesn’t anyone like me? Why can’t I be normal? They were right; no one would care if I was gone. Thoughts went through my mind, thoughts that I hated but, they were always there.

Tears filled my eyes, as I sat down with my webcam to record my last words, anyone would ever hear. Looking straight into the webcam these are the words I speak, “Mom, I love you. This isn’t your fault; you always helped me through everything. But, it’s my time. Tyzer, I hate that you will never love me the way I love you. You are my best friend and no one could ever change that. You were the only person that ever talked to me, you were my only friend. Thank you for giving me a chance. I’m sorry I’m doing this, I love you all; there’s just no reason to talk, see, or to live anymore… This is my destiny; I need to be in a better place.

I’m just done with no one else liking me, getting stomped on, and no one caring about me. See you all in greater days. Goodbye. ” I turned off the webcam and posted a note on top of my laptop to look at the video. I stepped onto my two story roof, and tears pooled down my face. “I am sorry. ” I whispered as I jumped onto the concrete below. There was a bright light, then suddenly, I was standing in the middle of a cemetery. There was a big group of people surrounding a certain part. Very confused, I walked over to the swarm of people. “What’s going on? ” I said trying to see over people.

But, no one seemed to notice me. Then I saw it; it was me, in the casket. I was at my own funeral. “I really did it? ” I said aloud knowing no one would be able to hear me. “After all these years of torture, I finally did it. ” Glaring down at my arm, I realized a pale color, almost transparent. Then it really hit me, my mom was standing over by my body as it lowered, she cried even louder. Her cry was almost a shriek. Pain, emotion fell throughout my body. Falling to the ground, I tried crying but, no tears came. I couldn’t cry? I felt all the emotion but I couldn’t cry; it was the most horrible feeling in the world.

Running up to my mom I tried hugging her; my whole body just went right through her. “I’m sorry Mom, I love you. ” I whispered into her ear, but knew it was no good. She looked up immediately, “I love you too…” she whispered back. Love and happiness filled my body, as sense of time to leave took a hold of my body. “Are you coming? ” I heard a familiar voice in the background. It was Tyzer, I couldn’t believe my eyes, but something told me it wasn’t all just a dream. Walking over to him, “More than I have ever been. ” I grabbed his hand, as we walked into the bright light. “I love you too J. ” He said as we entered the eye blinding portal.
